Introduction

PearSilicon is a native iOS compatibility layer for macOS.

Point it at an .ipa, and it installs the app, prepares it for macOS, and launches it as a real window you can play in. A built-in keymapper turns your keyboard and mouse into real touches, so a title built for a touchscreen feels natural on the Mac.

It’s built on interoperability and clean-room engineering: it translates system APIs so that legally owned iOS applications run natively on macOS. It doesn’t bypass DRM or anti-cheat protections, and it never modifies an app’s internal logic or memory.

It’s free, open source and MIT licensed. Use it only with applications you have legally purchased and prepared from your own devices.

  1. Install PearSilicon — download, unzip, and add it to Applications.
  2. Add an app — drop in an .ipa and it installs itself.
  3. Set up your controls if you’re playing with a keyboard.

If macOS warns you the first time you open it, that’s expected — and First launch shows how to allow it.
